About The Artist
Matthew Brooks is a painter and sculptor who has been working for many years in the field of Catholic Art. His work is part of many public and private collections and he does nothing but religious subject matter.
Mr. Brooks has done extensive research into the lost language of religious symbolism in painting and sculpture, as well as many other areas relating to the sacred arts. Currently, in addition to his artistic endeavors, he is the driving force behind Art for the Catholic Restoration.
His artwork is in high demand and he works exclusively by commission. Although faced with the financial obligations of providing for his wife and five children, Mr Brooks has never refused to do work for a church because they lacked the funds to pay a fair price (on many occasions accepting less than minimum wage for his efforts) as he believes that restoring the glory of the House of God and our Catholic Culture has to be the overriding concern.
Mr. Brooks is the author of many articles on the subject of Catholic art and Catholic culture and is available as a speaker on these subjects at conservative and traditional Catholic Forums and events. E-mail Art for the Catholic Restoration for further details.
